The profound partnership between Women Wage Peace and Women of the Sun comes to life not only through collaborative projects but also through intimate interpersonal workshops that foster deep personal connections among participants. These gatherings provide a unique space to share, listen, and build trust.
To overcome language barriers and ensure everyone can express their feelings authentically, we rely on simultaneous translation, allowing each participant to speak from the heart. Our workshops have included full-day meetings in Beit Jala, previously held at the former offices of Women of the Sun. We are now in advanced planning stages for continuing these impactful workshops in a new location.
The sessions have been thoughtfully designed and facilitated by Women of the Sun’s team, in consultation and collaboration with the facilitators from Women Wage Peace. Together, we’ve created meaningful and emotional days that have enabled us to deepen our understanding of one another and strengthen the bonds of friendship.
The discussions have tackled the most painful and challenging issues we face as women and mothers on opposite sides of the conflict. Through these honest and vulnerable conversations, we’ve found common ground and built connections that transcend our differences. These workshops have reaffirmed our shared commitment to fostering peace and understanding.
