Joint Event: Celebrating International Day of Peace in Jisr A-Zarqa

Women Wage Peace and Women of the Sun came together in Jisr A-Zarqa to commemorate the International Day of Peace. This bilingual gathering brought Israeli and Palestinian women together, fostering understanding and shared hopes for peace.

The event highlighted personal connections, with participants exchanging greetings and sharing their aspirations. Reem from Dahaisha refugee camp expressed her desire for freedom, while Orna from Caesaria emphasized the need to break down barriers between neighboring communities.

Our celebration included learning about Jisr A-Zarqa’s rich history, savoring local cuisine, and appreciating the village’s connection to the sea. The day culminated in a powerful moment of unity as we joined in prayer on the beach, affirming our commitment to turning peace from an aspiration into reality.

This gathering exemplifies the ongoing efforts of our movements to build bridges between Israeli and Palestinian women, creating spaces for dialogue and mutual understanding.
