Launching a Global Campaign: Amplifying the Mothers’ Call

We are excited to share news of a new global project that we are undertaking together – Women of the Sun and Women Wage Peace.

In 2024, both of our movements received the DVF Award, honoring extraordinary women dedicated to improving the lives of others. During the ceremonies in Venice, we met representatives of the Vital Voices Global Partnership, an organization that supports women leaders tackling some of the world’s greatest challenges. Inspired by our joint work, they decided to invest in both our movements and to shine an international spotlight on The Mothers’ Call.

After exploring different directions, we reached a shared decision: to launch a global campaign that will rally women worldwide to join The Mothers’ Call and amplify our voices for peace.

As part of this journey, last month a delegation from both movements gathered in Venice for two days of Global Dialogue, alongside 30 feminist leaders from around the world. These women, outspoken and wise, brought their own experiences of activism and peacebuilding, helping us frame the next steps. The dialogue is ongoing, and there are still hurdles to overcome, but we are confident that it will lead us toward a strong, collective voice calling for peace.

We were also honored to be invited once again to the DVF Awards ceremony, where Diane von Furstenberg herself highlighted our work and recognized our representatives, Reem Hajajreh and Yael Admi. Her words, and the response of those present, gave us renewed strength to continue on this challenging yet vital path.

This global campaign is only beginning, but it is rooted in the shared belief that together we can change the course of history. We know that when women lead with courage, determination, and empathy, peace is possible.
