Women Wage Peace, Women of the Sun, and Les Guerrières de la Paix Nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize

We are honored to announce that Women Wage Peace, Women of the Sun, and the French movement Les Guerrières de la Paix (Women Warriors of Peace) have been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

The nomination of our three movements was submitted by Professor Wolfgang Wagner from the Free University of Amsterdam, and the announcement was made during a ceremony held at the university yesterday (Tuesday).

The nomination statement reads:
“The 2025 Nobel Peace Prize should be awarded to the women’s peace movements, which work to overcome violence, hatred, and polarization by uniting women from different communities affected by or in a state of war. We salute the women working in these organizations for their courage, for withstanding pressures to choose sides, and for their ability to demonstrate empathy and compassion during a time when many have lost loved ones in the recent escalation of violence.”

This marks the second time that Professor Wagner and the Free University of Amsterdam have nominated us for the Nobel Peace Prize. We are deeply grateful to the university, Professor Wagner, and the students for their continued trust and support in our work. Their belief in our mission strengthens our resolve to keep going, even in the face of immense challenges.

Whether we win the prize or not, our commitment remains unwavering: to end the war, bring the hostages home, and push for negotiations toward a long-term agreement. Only through dialogue, reconciliation, and a political solution can we achieve the safety and security that we, our children, and future generations deserve.

We will continue our tireless efforts—because peace is not just a dream; it is a necessity.
